…HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 10 PM CDT WEDNESDAY…
* WHAT…Heat index values near 105 degrees.
* WHERE…Portions of western and central Illinois.
* WHEN…From 1 PM CDT until 10 PM CDT Wednesday evening.
* IMPACTS…Hot temperatures and high humidity will threaten heat-
related illness for people and pets that experience prolonged
exposure to these dangerous outdoor conditions.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Similar heat index values are forecast for
Thursday afternoon and these conditions will cover a much larger
portion of Illinois. A separate heat-related headline will be
issued at a later time.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and

evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible

Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
