PEORIA (WEEK) — The Midwest Food Bank of Peoria says the community continues to step up to get them back on the road after 10 tires were stolen from its trucks.
On Tuesday, Peoria Tire helped install tired with discounted rates after the weekend theft.
The community also contributed to the recovery by sending in donations.
“So far, every dollar that’s taken from us… that makes it harder for us to get more food to put back in here to get to other people,” said Rolland Reed, Midwest Food Bank Operations manager of the Peoria division. “You know, we all work on limited budgets so it’s frustrating.”
Reed said the company is open to hearing from the community on better security efforts to avoid future thefts.
