WASHINGTON (WEEK) – A proposed duplex in the Trail Edge subdivision in Washington has drawn mixed reactions from neighbors.
The proposal calls for the Stephanie Court cul-de-sac to be connected with Debates Street for development of a 28 duplex rental building and two single family homes.
The proposal raised concerns from neighbors, some who said the cul-de-sac is not an ideal location for the duplex.
Others said the new development would drop the property value of their homes.
“I think the biggest concern a lot of people have is is it going to increase the traffic that we have in the area,” resident Erin Craig said. “We are already on a busy main street right here and we have a lot of cars coming through.”
An online petition against the duplex has nearly 170 signatures.
Neighbors have the chance to voice their thoughts at the zoning and planning committee meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m.
