MCLEAN COUNTY (WEEK) Dozens of people gathered to honor the fallen with a ceremony, which included a Memorial Day flyover.
The annual ceremony was held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. It included an antique car parade through the Avenue of flags, a replica of the changing of the guard, and tomb of the unknown solider.
“I was a tactical officer in the service, and not every young man that I trained who served in Vietnam, and many didn’t come back. That’s what it means to me. Lives that paid the price of the freedoms we take for granted,” said David Brown, Vietnam Veteran & member of the Honor Guard
The American Legion Honor Guard Post 635 Normal and Post 56 Bloomington put on the ceremony.
