PEORIA (WEEK) – The ‘Badly Planned Last Minute Art Show’ took place in the River City Friday night.

Local artist and Peoria native Joshua Hawkins put the show together Thursday at 606 Art Studio in Peoria.

The spontaneous show highlights other local artists Eric Scott, Hattie Owens, Kate Ann, and Keagan Masters.

The Peoria Drum Circle brought live music to the event.

Several artists showcased oil paintings, photography, sculpture, and the ‘Cookie Monster’ mural which is available in prints and t-shirts.

For new artists out there who haven’t shown, Hawkins says your first showing can be daunting, but he advises to just go for it.

“We have this inner passion to show this voice inside of us. And we want to get it out through art or music or poetry, whatever it is. And the world needs more of that.”

– Josh Hawkins

Planned art shows are available to the public the first Friday of every month.
