PEORIA (WEEK) — Peoria native Victor Solomon is singing his way to a network TV title.
Monday was the first half of the season finale on NBC’s The Voice.
Solomon, now in the top five singers on the show, sang two songs, wrapping up the show with Beyonce’s “Freedom.”
In Peoria, Hy-Vee held a watch party at their Grand Prairie restaurant.
Friends, family, and even strangers cheered on the hometown star, including his mom, Barbara Solomon.
“I’m very excited for him. I just love my son. I love what he’s doing,” Barbara said, “He’s a people person. I just love what he’s doing not only on The Voice, but school. He’s faithful to the church. I have so much to be grateful for.”
