PEORIA HEIGHTS (WEEK) — After a 2020 cancellation, hundreds of people came out to the Peoria Heights Fine Art Fair to enjoy all the culture and arts it had to offer.
Artists there said the market returning this year was huge for their business.
The fair emphasizes local and regional artists, but participants all the way from Missouri and Texas came out.
Cash prizes were also given to the ‘Best of Show’.
Local artist, Arlana Marie, said these art shows allow her to bring in her main source of income and she’s thrilled they’re back.
“Any other little avenue selling your work online, that kind of stuff doesn’t work for me because of the nature of my art. It doesn’t show well online. You have to see it in person. The art shows really, that’s my bread and butter,” said Marie.
Each of the artists donated one piece of their work to be auctioned off. The proceeds will to support future fairs.
