EAST PEORIA (WEEK) – The Illinois National Guard has a new recruiting office on Camp Street in East Peoria.
U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood attended Friday’s ribbon cutting ceremony to show his support for all the Illinois National Guard’s work this past year.
“Our national guardsmen do so much for the State of Illinois and the country,” said LaHood.
“Remember, they helped us get through the pandemic with vaccination distribution and running vaccination sites all over the state,” he added.
“Having the recruiting center here in East Peoria in a great central location is going to help promote National Guard and what they do,” LaHood also said.
The recruiting office initially opened up last winter, but the ribbon cutting ceremony was delayed until Friday because of the pandemic.
