PEKIN (WEEK) – A late Monday night disturbance on Pekin’s south side is now a homicide, but authorities are releasing very few details about what happened.
Pekin Police were called about 11:30 p.m. Monday to the 1200 block of Summer Street on a report that a woman was screaming for help.
Police have now confirmed a 59-year old woman died at a local hospital.
A woman believed to be a relative was on the scene Tuesday evening and distraught about what happened. She was being comforted by Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley.
Early Tuesday morning, police said the public was not in danger and they were not looking for suspects.
