KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — A journalists’ association in Belarus says 13 people remain in detention after a popular news site in Belarus was raided and blocked by authorities. Belarusian authorities on Tuesday made online site Tut.by unavailable and raided its offices and the homes of some staff members. Officials accused the news site of violating media laws and tax evasion. The Belarusian Association of Journalists said Wednesday that 11 Tut.by staff members, two people from companies affiliated with the site, and a reporter for another outlet who covered the raid in Tut.by’s office remained in detention on Wednesday. Independent media outlets have come under pressure since protests against the reelection of Belarus’ president erupted in August. ,
