Vacant Peoria home damaged in overnight fire

PEORIA, Ill. (WEEK) — It took Peoria firefighters about 10 minutes to bring an overnight vacant house fire in Peoria under control.

It broke out at 12:24 AM Friday in the 300 block of South Webster Street.

There, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the eves of the house. Fire was later discovered inside, and quickly put out.

No one was injured.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
