A 14-year-old boy in Utah overturned after an off-road vehicle he was driving overturned and was rushed to a hospital in critical condition over the weekend, officials said.

The car in which Zane McVeigh was traveling crashed and rolled into Purple Hills of Warner Valley outside St.George.

Utah State Parks and Recreation officials believe McQuivey was driving at slow speed up the hill when the car rolled.

The teen was taken to St.George’s Regional Hospital, where he later passed away. An unidentified 38-year-old passenger was injured and he is expected to recover.

The accident is under investigation.

“Zane was a nice and happy boy of 14. He was an eighth-grader at Crimson Cliffs Middle School.” He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community, “the family said in a statement to the state agency.
